This forum will address the issues of utmost importance to the people for the benefit of whom the internet economy exists. Prominent advocates from the academic, consumer, development, digital rights, labour, and privacy communities will seek to engage government delegates on topics of relevance to the Ministerial, as well as issues of fundamental concern to their most important constituency.
The forum consists of interactive policy roundtables, covering the future of the Internet from 5 perspectives: the Human and political dimension; Towards a better future – Decent work, social justice and sustainable development in a global internet economy; Fuelling creativity and access to knowledge (A2K); Ensuring consumer and privacy protection and benefitting from convergence.

1948년 국제인권선언이 채택된 지 60년을 맞는 이 시점, 본 원탁회의는 인간과 정치의 차원에서 인터넷 경제의 미래에 대해 논의한다. 인간적 사회적 발전, 기초자유, 민주주의, 동등한 참여와 무차별, 법치 등의 인권 기준은 여전히 세계의 진보와 발전을 위한 보편적인 기준으로 남아있다. 토론자들은 이러한 잣대들이 인터넷 경제와 얼마나 관련이 있는지 들여다볼 것이다.

인터넷 경제의 발전에 기인한 컨버전스와 혁신을 통해 어떻게 사회적 이익을 잘-->최대한 확보할 수 있을까? 이 질문은 본 원탁회의의 핵심이 될 것이다. 이 회의에서는 개방표준에 의한 정보처리 완전 상호운용에 대한 요구가 어떻게 충족될 수 있을지 검토할 것이다. 네트워크 중립 개념과 적용문제를 논의할 것이다. 또한 소프트웨어 라이센스 모델에 대해서도 토론할 것이다.

본 원탁회의에서는 글로벌 지식의 공유와 창조, 이용을 통해 인터넷이 어떻게 사업구조와 고용관계를 재정립하고 있는지를 논의할 것이다. 더불어, 글로벌 생산네트워크에서 나타난 문제들과 업무의 변형, 적합한 업무, 평등, 사회 정의, 지속가능한 발전을 향상시킬 수 있는 정책들을 논의할 것이다.

본 원탁회의에서는 지식에의 접근을 장려하고 공공 영역을 보호하는 문제를 논의할 것이다. 인터넷 경제가 이러한 요구를 수용하고 달성할 수 있기 위해 필수적인 조건들을 규명해낼 것이다. 또한, 이들이 기초자유와 문화다양성에 미치는 영향도 알아볼 것이다.

본 원탁회의에서는 소비자 보호와 프라이버시 보호, 소비자의 신뢰 형성의 필요성을 제기함으로써 인터넷 경제 발전의 직접적인 이해관계들을 논의할 것이다. 공정한 상거래 관습, 네트워크 보안과 부정 방지, 프라이버시 및 데이터 보호 등이 주요 논점이 될 것이다. 토론자들은 사회적 네트워크와 그 밖의 웹 2.0 소프트웨어 등의 고찰을 통해 신분정보 관리와 평판의 보호 필요성도 알아볼 것이다.
