Life at Work in the Information Economy: World Employment Report 2001
The World Employment Report 2001 examines the impact of the new information and communication technologies on life at work at a time when the global employment situation still remains of considerable concern. While there have been some significant positive developments, especially in the United States and some industrialized countries, in most parts of the world the growth of new employment opportunities still remains insufficient to productively employ those who have lost jobs due to restructuring and the new entrants into the labour force.

IBITS
IBITS is the Industry, Business & Information Technology Services sector of UNI - Union Network International. IBITS is actively campaigning to win on-line rights for the world's growing number of on-line workers. It is also looking at the specific implications for white-collar employees of industrial and social change - including new trends in organising work; new technology and changing management methods. UNI was created in response to the huge changes going on in the global economy and because of the impact of technology on increasingly overlapping industries. It is a new international trade union organization. It is on-line and uses the latest communications technology to build networks with affiliates.

int.unity
Int.unity is trying to build up an international trade union community on the web. The major objective of the "int.unity" project is to overcome existing barriers in international trade union activities, in particular geographical distance and language problems by using modern information and communications technologies.
