On October 20-21, 2005, the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC), Grupo de Estudios en Internet, Comercio Electrónico, Telecomunicaciones e Informática de la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad de los Andes, Colombia (GECTI) and CPSR-Perú organized the coalition event: "The Public Voice: Privacy and Data Protection in Latin America Analysis and Perspectives".
The conference provided a meeting for civil society representatives, academic experts and public authorities to analyze and debate current public policy issues and recent developments in privacy in Ibero-America.
